Austin City Limits
Austin City Limits is over for another year! This was the first year Mira and I attended, having got tickets for Friday and Sunday (we can’t admit to being Stevie Wonder fans, and skipped Saturday).
Honestly, I don’t think the line-up was nearly as strong when compared to previous years, which surprised me given that this year is the 10th anniversary of ACL. On Friday, we got there in the early evening after work to see the Cold War Kids, Santigold and Coldplay. Santigold who blew us away (her voice live is incredible), neither the Cold War Kids or Coldplay lived up to expectation. I’m sure others would disagree.
Thankfully, Sunday really rescued it for us - particularly Arcade Fire. I’d heard they put on a great show (they absolutely did) and the crowd were totally into it. It was one of the best live performances I’ve seen, and they finished with Sprawl II - video above. Fantastic.
That’s Arcade Fire on repeat for the next week for me!
